New Providence - Nassau and Paradise Island are located here. This is where most of the major tourist attractions are, including world class hotels, casinos, and nightclubs.
Grand Bahama - A well developed island where many North Americans have built vacation homes and numerous condo developments are located.
The other islands, known as the Out Islands, are much less developed and offer a truer picture of Bahamian life.
Great Abaco - The most visited of the Out Islands. It has been a favourite sailing and diving destination for years. A well known yaghting community. Regular flights to the main town Marsh Harbour from Nasau.
Bimini - A name popularized by Ernest Hemingway, is the place for big game fishing, and more recently, diving.
Eleuthera - The earliest settled island, offers several attractive villages and both pink and white sand beaches.
Exumas - The most popular location for sailing, with many uninhabited islands and safe anchorages.
Andros- Noted for diving due to the Barrier Reef which runs the length of the island, as well as excellent bonefishing in the numerous inlets.
Cat Island and San Salvador = Attractive, hilly and mainly isolated islands.
Berry Islands - About 30 islets, offer fishing and yachting.
