GRACE BAY BEACH - In the Turks and Caicos Islands, Grace Bay Beach is the most popular place on the island of Providenciales. The fine white powder sand stretches for miles along the north coast and the warm clear water is sheltered by an offshore reef. During the past few years many new luxury condominium buildings have been constructed and there is a good choice of condos in all price ranges. In this area are many fine restaurants and small plazas with butiques for shopping enthusiasts.

BEYOND GRACE BAY - The beach is just as good at the north west tip of the island and the condos at North West Point are lower priced than Grace Bay. Certainly worth considering if you don't mind a drive over a very rough road. But look for overnight appreciation once the road is paved - it will come one day.
LONG BAY HILLS - On the south easterly end of the island is a long stretch of wild untamed beach. The dune is dotted with outcroppings of limestone and miniature palm trees. This is a wonderful place for beachcombing. Although this whole area remains unpaved with very rough roads, there are a few residential houses scattered about. Inland lots are available for resale, some with slight elevations giving ocean views. Occasionally a house or lot will become available on the beach.

LEEWARD - The Leeward area at the  north east end of Providenciales was developed as a residential area some time ago and is a good place to locate in an established community for those planning on permanent residence.
TURTLE COVE MARINA - This little pocket is a great place to live. The marina is a hub of activity with charter fishing boats and dockside restaurants. Actually no fewer than 5 eateries right at the water's edge! Nearby is a good beach with a snorkeling reef (Smith's Reef). There are several choices of condos in this area and more coming. DISCOVERY BAY CANAL AREA - For those who would like to have a boat anchored dockside outside their house, in the south central part of the island is an area of inland canals with access to the ocean. Canal lots and homes are usually available.
TURTLE TAIL - A long peninsula near Discovery Bay gives rise to some high ridges with rough winding roads that look onto panoramic views. Great for the adventurous but if you choose to live here don't plan on popping out to the store on a daily basis and get a jeep.
CHALK SOUND & SAPODILLA BAY - On the south side of the island is a peninsula running along an inland waterway. This 200 acre protected marine park is dotted with tiny islands that lie like a string of pearls in a sea of irridescent blue. The water is a milky turquoise colour that is unforgettable.  On the ocean side of the peninsula is a lovely little bay called Sapodilla Bay, which has a white sand beach and is suitable for anchoring small boats. If you love water views, and don't have to have beach, this area is unsurpassed.

GRAND TURK ISLAND - Among the other islands in the Turks and Caicos chain, the island of Grand Turk is a good alternative to Providenciales. This island was actually developed long before Provo by the colonists in the salt trade business and is the seat of government. The old settlement of Cockburn Town is right on the water. You can walk all along the waterfront here, like in Wasaga Beach in Ontario. Along this avenue are historic buildings such as the National Museum which houses artifacts from the oldest European shipwreck in the western hemisphere. The avenue leads to a narrow stone walled street with interesting houses. There are also quaint old inns which are reminiscent of Muskoka.  Recently the Carnival Cruise Centre theme park was built. When ships are in port this bustles with shops and restaurants located around a beautiful swimming pool. Grand Turk has a lifestyle feeling somewhere between the old Caribbean and Ontario cottage country. To view short videos on Cockburn Town and the Cruise Centre click on movie icons below.
