Travel from UK
Over the last decade or so the travel industry has undergone a great deal of change. The main difference in the flow of business has been that fact that many more travellers are now booking all of their reservations on the internet or over the telephone rather than using their local travel agents. This has been largely to do with the vast difference in costs and the savings that can be made from booking online or over the telephone. Nowhere is this more evident than for high end destinations such as Turks and Caicos or Providenciales, the name of the airport you will fly into when visiting this idyllic destination. As a UK resident there are a wide variety of different routes that you can take to get to this island and they will vary quite a lot in cost.

The majority of flights that depart the United Kingdom heading for Turks and Caicos will leave from one of the London airports, either Heathrow or Gatwick. The only airline that has a direct flight to Providenciales is British Airways and even this flight, although classed as a direct service has a touchdown in Grand Cayman where you will not disembark the plane. The British Airways service is the most popular service to take from the UK as it will take the least amount of time even with the touchdown. For this reason if you wish to attain a good price for this flight you must make your reservation as early as you possibly can. This is especially important if you are travelling over peak dates such as school holidays, Easter or Christmas. The flights on these particular dates will always be more expensive, especially if you book your flight too close to the departure date. Sometimes British Airways will run special offers on their international flights. These offers will usually be advertised on the television and in the newspapers so always be sure to keep an eye out for them. These special offers can often be £100-200 lower than the standard fares, but they will generally require you to pay for the flight in full rather than paying a deposit. You can expect the standard fares with British Airways to be between £500 and £900 return including airport taxes depending on the time of year that you travel. The lowest fares tend to be between January and March and from September to November.

There are cheaper ways to get to Turks and Caicos from the United Kingdom but it will mean changing planes on the way. The most popular airlines to use are American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. Both of these carriers will take you through Miami. If you have to take an indirect service then Miami is probably the best city to do so as it is only a short distance from Providenciales. Although Virgin Atlantic do not fly from Miami to Providenciales they have agreements with other airlines to get passengers to Turks and Caicos. Both American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic will tend to be cheaper than British Airways because of the change of aircraft. You can expect the fares to be between £400 and £750 again depending on the date you are flying.

Cheap flights to any destination that are indirect will always tend to be lower as they are deemed as inconvenient by most travellers. However, if you are seeking the lowest fare then they are definitely the best option for you. As there are not too many carriers that fly to Turks and Caicos from the United Kingdom it is especially important to make your reservation as early as you can to ensure that the fare you obtain is as low as possible.
